Speak Up! So You Can Stand Out!
Authentically articulate who you are, what you are passionate about, and what you uniquely have to offer the world!
Are you a junior or senior at college and are about to start interviewing for jobs?
Are you an entrepreneur or business owner who is having articulating who are and what you do?
Have you been laid off from a job recently? Been part of a company's down-sixing? Need to learn how to re-enter the workforce in a different capacity?
How do you stand out in a stack of resumes when the competition for a position is so fierce?
Speak Up! So You Can Stand Out! will teach you to become a more effective, authentic, and passionate communicator.
There are two ways formats in which this work is taught:
1. In a two hour lecture/demonstration, I would touch on:
- Why being an effective, authentic communicator is so important?
- The core technique of Acting Awareness to communicate more authentically.
- What is passion and how do you harness it for success?
- How do you find and express your uniqueness in order to stand out?
Participants would learn a ‘centering in’ practice that actors are taught to become more present and available. By the end of the lecture, they will have identified at least one thing about which they are really passionate and one quality which makes them unique. Participants will leave with the core tool of Acting Awareness, an important communication skill which they can immediately put into practice.
2. In a six week course (6 weeks/3 hours per session) or as an intensive weekend program, I would delve more deeply into each of the above areas, with specific emphasis, exercises, and assignments on:
- Tools to deepen self-awareness
- Enhancing ease and confidence through acting exercises
- Communicate clearly, openly, and authentically from your heart
- Hone interview and presentation skills by learning to connect deeply with others as if you were talking one-on-one to a room full of people
- Dealing with differences
- What it takes to be a “team player”
My approach incorporates meditation, lecture, group exercises, multimedia, and team projects. Participants will keep journals, which I call “heart-work”, for reflection.
In an experiential, interactive format, they would gain valuable knowledge about themselves and learn concrete, tangible, practical tools for knowing and capitalizing on their uniqueness and passions, while expanding their ‘soft-skills’.
